New NCCCO Mobile Crane Certification Candidate

Full week NCCCO Mobile Crane Operator Certification classes are a week long, M-F (8am-5pm). On Monday of each class week all candidates will take their practical exam(s).

Our school is designed to prepare current operators for the NCCCO Certification process. The class is not designed to teach a new crane operator candidate on how to become a crane operator. The candidate must have their seat time/ crane experience prior to attending the class & taking the practical exams. This class does meet the OSHA 1926.1427 trainee requirments.

If any full week candidate fails any written exam they can retest and retake the class as many times as they need to, in order to pass the written exam at no extra charge from COCI. You will need to resubmit and pay all the NCCCO application fees.

Operator Qualification Training

Operator qualification training is a two day class at our facility or yours with the first day being in a classroom setting reviewing the applicable Standards, taking written exams and load chart exams. On day two, the class moves to the field for crane operations and Practical Exams. Employers will be provided with the written documentation of the training and operators will receive a Qualification card for the crane type on which they will be operating. An operator trainee will receive an Operator Trainee card until completing a period of seat time under the supervision of a qualified operator. This time is determined by the employer.

After the completion of this class, operators are required by both OSHA and ASME to be allowed to operate your cranes to become qualified on that particular crane type. The employer makes the final determination on the operators’ ability and qualification to operate their specific cranes.

This training can be conducted at your site or ours. If the training is conducted at your site on your crane(s) the class will only be scheduled for two days and we will use your load charts specifically for load chart training. You will need to provide us your crane information to prepare the load chart test.
